What is concrete?

Concrete slabs are used as a structural element in buildings. A concrete slab is a smooth, dense, horizontal concrete surface that's used for flooring or roofing. Concrete slabs are utilized to create the ground floor of homes in a variety of ways, whether on the soil or as a foundation.

Our Concrete Slab Installation Process

Concrete slabs can be a challenge if your skills and knowledge are not sufficient for the job. Port St. Lucie Concrete Contractors follows the strict procedure for installing concrete slabs.

Safety is a priority in all of our concrete projects. Before we begin any project, we make sure to be equipped with the proper safety equipment. Eye protection is a must, as are long sleeves, long pants, rubber gloves, and boots. All of these help safeguard us from concrete splashes that could affect our health and our overall health.

Similar to before, we follow the following steps:

Step 1 - Preparation on the spot

We follow the same procedure regardless of whether working on a small slab or a huge project. Every project begins with the preparation of the area. To begin fresh, we clean up and eliminate any waste. As part of our pre-planning we ensure that all the materials are available on the job site. The transportation of materials is scheduled prior to the actual work begins. This helps us complete the project within the timeline we have established.

Step 2 Build Concrete Forms and Reinforce Concrete Slabs using Stahl

When the area is clean and prepared, we begin by putting in concrete forms using wire mesh. Concrete forms are strong barriers that keep the concrete mix in the right place. Concrete forms create solid and holds the concrete mix. Rebar is a method of strengthening concrete for larger structures. This makes concrete stronger surfaces.

Step 3: Mixing Concrete Mix

A concrete truck is utilized to speed up the process. This ensures the concrete material is properly mixed. Sometimes, we do manual mixing. A concrete mixer is needed in the majority of projects.

Step 4: Pouring Concrete

After mixing concrete, we immediately put a concrete slab in the molds. We do it carefully as we pour the concrete mix to ensure that we do not create too many air pockets. The formation of air pockets results from not enough mortar filling the spaces surrounding the aggregate. Concrete is poured by making sure the mortar is evenly distributed throughout the shape.
